Impasse Progress #3

Here's the latest version of the scene where the monster attacks, I'm going to walk away from this one for a bit to work on other scenes:

I've also put together some run cycle loops for the short scene after this, which will just show them running from the waste down:

And lastly, I roughed down a version of the very first scene:

Impasse

Gonna start posting progress stuff here for my student film, "Impasse", about a boy and his grandfather traveling across the countryside, when they run into a monster.

Here's a poster I made to promote it, and some character reference sheets.

And here's a test i did recently in flash, of the scene when the monster first strikes.

Pitch Bible

Well school Is over, I better start posting things I did during this semester. I'll start with my pitch bible I did for one of my classes. Basically running through an Idea for a story. It's purposed for a video game, but I suppose I never really talked much about how the game would work in it...

It's supposed to be viewed as a bound book, so here's all the pages in a row.

Room Assignment + Yoshi Study Thing

So we were assigned to do a children's bedroom, I've been busy rendering my design, here's what I have so far, still a WIP.

Here's the initial sketch for that:

And here's an influence map of painting styles. I was really thinking a lot about bastion while working on this.

Also earlier this week I did a study in my sketchbook where I took Yoshi and studied the proportions and how they related back to realism, examining how the features were stretched. I scanned them in and slapped on some color.

Assignment(s): Period costumes + Lighthouse Layouts

I was assigned to create an outfit for a character in the past, present, and future themed on a specific culture. My subject was India. I tried some line-less value sculpting for this.

I mostly concentrated on the extremely colorful shawls worn traditionally in India. And tried to explore how someone today might casually wear one in a modern business setting. As for the future outfit I tried to adapt the same concept to be more uniform and sleek, with a bright yet more controlled color scheme.

Additionally, I was assigned to do value studies for environments involving a lighthouse, here's those!

Assignment: Character Expressions

We were assigned to draw the same character in multiple expressions. Here's my sheet of expressions featuring my character, the inventor Verrall Tarantella.
